7th Journal Entry.

Review the results of your personal health assessment and write your realizations and plans about your health in your journal.

After I have red the readings about "Respect For Health" I realized that drinking too much alcohol can harm my body. It can make my heartbeat stop. It can make my body lose my temperature. Or it can cause a cancer in the liver. And I realized that it`s okay to drink. But not too much. Abusing our body isn`t cool. We have to take good care of it before we realized that we`re already dying because we already abused our body. :]

5th Journal Entry.

On your journal, write an essay on the theme “The Most Challenging Thing I have ever Accomplished”. It describes your own experience of completing a task, given your full effort, dedication and determination. This could be about:

Learned skills (driving, cooking, sports, playing musical instruments, and acting).

The Most Challenging Thing I Have Ever Accomplished..

is learning how to drive! :P Driving is not that easy.. You have to focus and be dedicated to what you are doing. My uncle taught me how to drive. He`s the youngest brother of my father anyway. The first car I drove was Kia Picanto :P He started teaching me when I was in 3rd yr high school. :) Since I`am spending my summer in Bulacan, I asked him if he can teach me how to drive. And boom! He did :D At first, I thought I wouldn`t be able to learn how to drive. It`s hard. Really hard. But then again , if you are dedicated to your work, you`ll learn how to even if it`s hard. :) I started driving on our subdivision, since it`s automatic, I don`t have to exert effort in my driving. :P I was nervous because I was only 15 years old then. :P But since I`m willing, I learned how to drive in just 3 days :D But my dad wouldn`t allow me to because I`m still a minor pa daw. Aww. Too bad. :[ But the thing is, I already accomplished one of my goals :D

Wee. :)

4th Journal Entry.

1. Looking back at the list of your positive characteristics and qualities, what do you feel and realize about it?
I realized that I know myself that much more than anyone else.

2. The Golden Rule says “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.”
a. Given the following situations, how would you like to be treated by your teachers and schoolmates:
- when you have given wrong answers to the questions during recitation,
*Everyone commits mistakes. So respect begins respect. Anyways, nobody`s perfect :)

- when you are expressing your opinion during class or group discussion;
*Respect and listen to my answer. :)
- when you are giving suggestions during group work or presentation;
*Respect each other`s opinion so that we will come up with a good idea or presentation.

- when you commit mistake;
*Who doesn`t? Nobody`s perfect anyway. :) So don`t laugh or discriminate.

- when you don’t like doing what they ask you to do and
*This one is a tough question. I have to do it for Christ`s sake. :P I`ll better do it na lang. :)

- when they want to give you their comments or suggestions?
*I`d be delightful to hear their thoughts and suggestions. I`ll respect their comments. :)

b. Considering the given ideas on how to treat others with respect, what can you commit to yourself in terms dealing with the MCL community: teachers, students, employees, security, maintenance/janitors and canteen personnel?
*I`ll respect the whole MCL community starting from the teachers up to the canteen personnels. God created us equally. There`s no room for discrimination. Everyone deserves to be treated well. :)

3rd Journal Entry.

If you will have one outstanding virtue, what would you want it to be? Why?

- If I will have ONE OUTSTANDING VIRTUE, that would be PUNCTUALITY. :) Being punctual is so close in being a professional. Since high school, I`m using FILIPINO TIME. :)) It`s very shameful to keep those people waiting. :'( What can I do? It`s very HARD for me to wake up early. I`m always late way back in high school. But then again, this is college life. College; where maturity happens. I have to be mature. :) I HAVE TO BE PUNCTUAL. I really HAVE to. I know little by little, I will be able to achieve my oustanding virtue. Keep the faith, drop the fear. Oh yeah. That`s the fighting spirit. XD

2nd Journal Entry.

1. How was your first week of stay at MCL?
My first week in MCL is stressful. Yet I was able to meet new friends and professors as well. :') I`am enjoying my college life at MCL na. :D

2. Describe your professors. What are traits do you find positive in each one?
They`re all enthusiastic and friendly. They`re all easy to deal with.

3. Describe your blockmates/section. What do you think are the strengths and weaknesses of your section?
B02 is the best. ;') I think our major weakness is DRAW021W. =)) Heheh. And Math011? :) My blockmates are all fun to be with. Especially the boys. They`re all makulit. Easy to talk to and easy to approach. I thought I wouldn`t be able to make new friends on my block. Look on the bright side, I was able to interact with them easily. :) Too bad, we only have 2 months left. :'( I`ll surely miss B02. :P

4. How do you find your courses? Which ones do you think are easy and which ones do you think are a little bit challenging? Why?
HUM011 is my favorite subject. :') Ma`am DC has a great great sense of humor. She makes lessons easy as possible. :) DRAW021W is the hardest course ever. :( I don`t know. Lagi na lang kaming luge. =P HAHA. But deep within me, I know I can pass that course. :P Survivor of the fittest. =))

5. Do you have any adjustment you feel you are going through or must go through? What are they? Cite examples in terms in your academics, emotions, and social environment.
College life itself. College life is not that easy. This is where all the thrill`s going to happen. But then again, you have to deal with this reality. You`re no longer a tiny winnie student in high school. You have to work harder and strive harder if you want to be successful. :P

Values :]

*How does Values Education work to your advantage?

- My first Values teacher was my mother. She taught me how to do these and not to do that. She started teaching me Values when I was still a toddler. Before I go to school, she would always say this to me.. "Oh anak, wag kang sasama sa hindi mo kilala." Funny isn`t it? But when I started growing up, I realized that those wordings that my mom gave me would be a great help. When I was in elementary, we have this subject called "Character Education". Boring. Yes it is boring. But then again, realizations came. I`ve had realized that listening to lessons in Character Education would be a great great great help. It`ll make me a better person. Isn`t it? :) When I entered High School, "Values Education" came into the picture. I remembered when I was in 1st yr high school, I used to say this to myself. "Ang hirap hirap magpaexam sa Values, 0.3 lang naman." Values Education may not be that important unlike those major subjects way back in high school. But without Values, you`ll be nothing. The good thing is, I`ve had realized that Values is VALUES. Not Values lang. Because of Values, I`ve learned how to respect others as well as how I respect myself. And the only thing that mattered above all is that because of Values, I`ve learned to live my life with Papa Jesus at the center. :)

*After you have processed your first few experiences a MCL, in what way this will help you achieve succesful adjustment in college?

- After we have met Engineer Paz as our Professor in DRAW021, my goal is to PASS Engineer Paz. hehe. He may be "masungit" but all he wanted is for us to possess the heart of perfection. I have met new faces as well as new professors. Way back high school, we call them "teachers". Actually, it`s my first time to live alone. "Independent life" as they say. The world may be cruel for us. But God has plans. The professors, grading system and the program I`am enrolled with, makes me strive harder than ever before. In MCL, I know I`m in good hands. Even if the professors are fond of giving us LOTS and LOTS of school works. :) Excellence and Virtue mga tol!. and we`ll survive this 1st term and the preceding terms. :P

*Making Transitions from High School to College.

- High School is not that hard. High School is the happiest period for us, students. It is where the bond happened. The trippings and all.. Four years, who would have thought in those four years we didn`t even experience sleepless nights? Oh, I mean we`ve experienced sleepless nights but not because of studying for tomorrow`s exam. But because of late night chit chats. :) But in college, you`ll experience I mean we`ll experience sleepless nights. More and more sleepless nights because we have to pass this, we have to study that, we have to draw those. My first week in MCL is so stressful. Ugh. Too many quizzes and seatworks. You gotta be kidding me. :[ In High School, you`re with your family. Your mom will do the laundry. But in college, you`ll live on your own. You have to work things on your own for you to live. I`m having a rough time dealing with that reality. The reality that I`m no longer a spoiled brat waiting for the blessing to come for me. But then again, college is the part where maturity happens. High school ended months ago but the memories don`t. It`s our choice if we`ll make our college life enjoyable while learning. We`re here again working for the bond we had way back in high school. College is the last step for us to reach our dreams... :)

Bow.
